Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how LocalCode, LLC (“LocalCode,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you access or use the LocalCode platform and services (the “Service”) at localcode.ai and related subdomains.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you apply for the Austin Pilot Program, create an account, or contact us, we collect information such as:

  • Name and professional title
  • Business email address and phone number
  • Company or organization name
  • Role and professional use case description
  • Jurisdiction of interest
  • How you heard about LocalCode
  • Any other information you choose to provide

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we and our infrastructure providers automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, referring URL, timestamps
  • Usage data: API requests made, search queries, features accessed, session duration
  • Device information: device type, screen resolution, language settings

We do not currently use cross-site tracking cookies or serve third-party advertising.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Review and process pilot program applications and grant or deny access
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Communicate with you about your account, access status, and Service updates
  • Respond to your questions, requests, and feedback
  • Monitor usage patterns and diagnose technical problems
  • Enforce our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your professional use case descriptions or search queries to train AI models or share them with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers

We use third-party vendors to help operate the Service. These providers process data only on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements. Key providers include:

  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (hosted on AWS)
  • Vercel — application hosting and edge delivery

Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: comply with applicable law or legal process; protect the rights, property, or safety of LocalCode, our users, or the public; or detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues.

Business transfers

If LocalCode is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is subject to a materially different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and application data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account or your application is declined, we retain minimal records (name, email, decision, date) for up to three years for administrative and legal purposes, and then delete or anonymize them.

Technical log data is typically retained for 90 days. Usage and analytics data may be retained in aggregated, de-identified form indefinitely.

5. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS), database-level access controls, and row-level security policies.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability where applicable

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@localcode.ai. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days). We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA). We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under CCPA.

7. Children

The Service is intended for professional use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

8. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Service or by email. The effective date at the top of this page reflects when the current version was last updated. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
